This series celebrates the most excruciating and hilarious TV cock-ups mishaps and gaffes from the great and good of television over many decades. Episodes include TV moments, live TV, TV guests, reality TV, chat shows and game shows.

We are guided through our journey by a wealth of diverse faces, some of whom were directly involved in the moments. Others - such as comedians, celebrities and commentators - provide context, analysis and wit to the proceedings. Contributors include La Voix, Debbie McGee, Colson Smith and Simon McCoy.

This edition, Most Embarrassing TV Moments, features a range from the more familiar - such as Richard Madeley’s infamously painful impression of Ali G live on This Morning, Eamonn Holmes’s uncomfortable interview with taciturn magician David Blaine (remember the eye on his hand?) and the moment that spawned YouTube when Tom Cruise bounced like an excited child on Oprah Winfrey’s sofa declaring his undying love for Katie Holmes.

And there’s less familiar, but equally embarrassing clips, including an 80-year-old woman’s over-sharing revelations about her night of intimacy with a toyboy after 35 years without congress, psychic medium Derek Acorah gathering a group of Michael Jackson superfans at a seance in order to commune with the late singer, and, of course, probably the most embarrassing TV moment ever when IT worker Guy Goma (at the BBC for a job interview) was mistaken for another Guy (an IT journalist) and dragged live on 24 hour news to discuss a complicated legal battle. His terrified face when he realises what is happening is the stuff of TV legend.

The show is told with humour and insight, with a real sense of the occasionally damaging, more-often funny consequences of many of these moments, especially in an age of social media where there really is nowhere to hide.

The Most Embarrassing TV Moments airs Saturday 22nd November on 5.
