Love Your Garden | Preview (ITV1)

This time Alan and the team are in the town of Hinkley to surprise World War Two veteran Gordon, who at 96 is one of just a handful of surviving heroes from the D-Day landings - now the commander-in-chief of his family, the neglected garden needs to be a space they can spend precious time together.

Alan sets about bringing a classic beautiful English country garden to this inaccessible space – with raised beds in dry stone walls packed with scented roses and lavender, Danny Clarke creating a sociable seating area and miniorchard, and Katie Rushworth designing an outdoor room where all the family can enjoy the sensory planting, this is a garden which will give Gordon back his outside space.

Meanwhile, Frances Tophill heads to North Devon and RHS Rosemoor, where hundreds of types of roses are planted in formal and informal gardens to magical effect.

Love Your Garden returns Tuesday 12th September on ITV1.
