Artist Grayson Perry heads for California on a mission to understand how Silicon Valley's booming tech industries are likely to shape the human future.

He begins in the Bay Area where he is assisted by an increasingly chummy chatbot. He meets everyone from leading players in the industry to idealistic young start-up founders, as well as ordinary people who are adopting the latest innovations and alarmed critics of the direction AI is taking the world.
