First Dates | Series 22 Preview (Channel 4)
First Dates is back! After celebrating a very special 10th anniversary, the world's most romantic restaurant has moved to a new stunning location in the heart of the beautiful city of Bath.
The flames of passion are burning in the restaurant tonight as fire performer, Hayley, meets business owner, Glen. And just when you think things can’t get much hotter, Glen confesses if he was to be someone in a movie it would be Christian Grey from ‘50 Shades of Grey’.
Temperatures continue to rise in an unforgettable rendezvous of playful encounters and steamy surprises. The sexual attraction is undeniable but will Hayley and Glen’s chemistry lead to a lasting connection?
Welsh 36-year-old Sarah is tattooed from head to toe. She has low expectations when it comes to her match: “I just want to find someone that’s not an arsehole” and “who’ll take my bins out on a Tuesday.” Enter the equally inked Dan, 31.
The pair soon bond over the pre-conceptions provoked by their face ink. Dan seems to tick the non-arsehole box: he owns a pair of chihuahuas and loves nothing more than a candle lit bubble bath. The banter on the date leaves Sarah crying with laughter. Is their obvious connection platonic, or will their next tattoos be of each other’s names?
24-year-old William has never kissed a girl and his visit to the restaurant will be his first date ever. His match is 23-year-old Zara, also on her first ever date. William has been hindered in romance by his stutter and he gets off to a nervous start, but after a pep talk from Fred, William ups his flirting game.
When Zara reveals she’s a “die-hard fan” of royalty, who queued 27 hours to see the Queen’s coffin, William delights her by revealing he’s met most of the Royal Family; he bumped into Queen Camilla when his dog tried to jump into her Range Rover. Is William Zara’s Prince Charming? Or will she wave him a right royal goodbye?
34-year-old Ashauna and 38-year-old Kurt are the last couple in the restaurant today. Kurt arrives wearing a velvet jacket and armed with a bunch of roses for his date.
Ashauna is charmed further when she hears of Kurt’s passion for Soca music and flirty sharing of spicy food ensues. Kurt lends a sympathetic ear when Ashauna tells of her self-esteem taking a hit after facing dating discrimination over her albinism. Could Kurt be the gentleman Ashauna needs?
First Dates returns Tuesday 6th August at 10pm on Channel 4.
