Fire Country | Preview (Sky Witness)

Fire Country, US network CBS’ top-rated new TV series of the last year, is coming to UK audiences this month.

Starring and executive produced by Max Thieriot (Seal Team), Fire Country tells the story of a young convict, Bode Donovan, who seeks redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison-release firefighting programme.

Inspired by Thieriot’s personal experiences of growing up in wildfire-prone Northern California, the series sees Bode and other inmates partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region.

The heat is turned up when Bode returns to his rural Californian hometown with the firefighting unit. Bode burned down everything in his life five years ago and left home with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption.

The 22x60 drama series also stars Billy Burke (Twilight), Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer), Diane Farr (Chance), Stephanie Arcila (Marriposa de Barrio), Jordan Calloway (Riverdale) and Jules Latimer (Rustin).

Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Ireland, said: “Fire Country is ablaze with action, drama and stunning visual effects. It’s a series that you’ll just want to keep on bingeing. The show has been a huge hit in the US and I can’t wait to bring it to our audiences in the UK next year.”

Fire Country is produced by CBS Studios. Executive producers are Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Tia Napolitano, Max Thieriot, Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Fire Country joins an unmissable line up of programming on Sky in 2024, from new British original series such as Mary and George (Julianne Moore, Nicholas Galitzine) and The Tattooist of Auschwitz (Jonah Hauer-King, Anna Próchniak, Harvey Keitel) to the best shows from the US such as True Detective: Night Country (Jodie Foster, Kali Reis) and House of the Dragon Season 2 (Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith).

Fire Country will be available to watch on Sky Witness and streaming service NOW from Wednesday 24th January.
