Crufts 2024 | Preview (Channel 4)

The nation’s favourite dog show, Crufts, returns to Channel 4 with more than 15 hours of broadcast coverage across Channel 4, More 4 and online from 7th to 10th March.

Clare Balding is back to present the programme alongside co-presenter Sophie Morgan, who will be in the halls at the Birmingham NEC to present features, interviews and current talking points in the dog world. Reporter, Radzi Chinyanganya will guide viewers through the action on the day and capture all the emotion from the arena.

Also returning is resident vet Dr Paul Manktelow, who will answer questions on best practices for dog lovers. Viewers can send questions and videos for Paul to engage with during the programme.

Obedience expert, Ashleigh Butler, will join the team to add her insight on canine behaviour. And there’ll be a special guest appearance from dog-lover, and Channel 4 football co-commentator, Dion Dublin, who will get advice on how to look after, and show, his Mastiff.

It is expected that 24,000 dogs from 50 countries will be attendance for the 133rd edition of Crufts. This year’s coverage will include live Flyball, Agility, Heelwork to Music, The Kennel Club Hero Dog award and of course, the coveted Best in Show.

The line-up also includes Scruffts, which gives crossbred dogs a moment in the spotlight and there will be a focus on young handlers as they show their dogs in the International Junior Final.

Calling it “the Olympics of the dog world”, Clare Balding explains what she loves about the event and shares what she’s looking forward to this year as she returns for her twentieth year since her debut presenting Crufts in 2004.
