In this gripping new series, we follow Britain’s finest as they head out every day to clean up your streets. Whether it’s chasing down illegal e-scooters, tackling drunks rampaging through the town centre, or cutting brazen drug dealers down to size, these specialised neighbourhood officers will stop at nothing to bring the bad guys to justice.

Real cops. Real chaos. Real council estates. This week, the police neighbourhood teams get their grip on guns, drunks and dealers as they battle to protect the streets and estates of Northamptonshire.

A stabbing leaves a teenager in critical condition and the town on tenterhooks, and two officers in one of Northampton’s problem areas chase down a known teenage criminal. After diving down alleys and across busy roads, the boy is caught and reveals a deadly secret in his manbag – a firearm.

In Kettering, a masked man on an e-bike doesn’t want to stop for police. Three teams join the frenetic pursuit, finally stopping him to discover that his pedal power is now so highly-charged that it should be classed as a motorbike. A drug test also reveals he was using more than one illegal substance to give him wings.

A posse of officers are brought together to tackle a group of dealers who are flooding the streets with crack and heroin. After raiding two properties, arresting three men and uncovering a serious illegal stash, the officers are given one final surprise when a suspect uses the police station toilet to unload one last criminal package.

In a town centre the local drunk won’t listen to cops and won’t go home to sleep off his day of drinking. He’s given him enough time to do the right thing, before police step in when he has a pop at an innocent dog walker.

The neighbourhood teams also keep their eyes out for wanted men and dodgy driving - snaring one suspected shoplifter and a white van man without the proper licence or insurance. The number of crimes, criminals and problems that keep our neighbourhood teams busy is shocking, but they fight on to keep our streets safe and our communities free from chaos.

Council Estate Cops begins this September on 5.
