Bangers & Cash | Series 9 Preview (Yesterday)

The delightful series following the family-run classic car auctioneers returns for a new series.

The Mathewsons find and auction thousands of classic vehicles of all varieties each year from their HQ in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Thornton-le-Dale.

Over the past 30 years, the Mathewson family have made the village their home. They’re all big characters - a three-generation dynasty of classic car auctioneers.

Dad Derek and sons Paul and Dave tell it how it is and are well respected for it. Bangers & Cash is the totally authentic car show. This ninth series includes the 100th episode of Bangers & Cash (S9E9), while Derek, Dave, Paul and all of the Mathewsons brigade will be appearing at Bangers & Cash Live in August for a live auction in front of thousands of people at Scampston Hall.

In the first episode Derek travels to the Yorkshire coast to pick up a 1963 Austin J2 Paralanian campervan, described as the “Rolls Royce of campervans”.

Meanwhile Dave heads south to pick up an extremely rare 1969 Ford Cortina 3000 GT Savage Estate that was owned by the legendary British racing driver and creator of the Savage brand of modified Cortinas himself, Jeff Uren.

Back at the garage, a Ford Sierra Sapphire 2000E in near mint condition is dropped off for the auction, Jack enjoys some classic tunes from a Scottish bagpiper and young Charlie shows off his new rally car.

Bangers & Cash returns Thursday 15th January at 8pm on Yesterday.
