Bad Dog Academy | Preview (Channel 4)

Channel 4 are returning to The Dog Academy for a second series. However, the series has been retitled as 'The Bad Dog Academy', and will now have its first host in the form of Radio presenter Nick Grimshaw.

The Academy will help the most difficult dogs and their most desperate owners. A crack team of Britain’s top specialist trainers will instruct beleaguered owners in dog management skills and dog psychology.

Dogs and their owners will receive separate training designed to help owners build long-lasting, positive relationships with their furry friends. And audiences will be offered a chance to see how dog and owner fare as they try to put their new skills to use.

In the first episode, eight-stone Ghost, a Cane Corso mastiff, is striking terror into the heart of the neighbourhood, and his owners. While his guard dog credentials are impeccable, it is hoped trainers Sean and Kamal can encourage him to become compatible with family life.

Meanwhile, newly engaged pair Chelsea and Owen have their hands full with - and their relationship tested by - Chelsea's six chihuahuas and a cavaponchi called Mr Bollinger.

Nick Grimshaw said: "I have always loved dogs so getting to be around loads of them all at once on Bad Dog Academy has been a dream. I’ve loved witnessing the incredible work of these expert trainers and the amazing transformations of both dogs and their human owners."

The Bad Dog Academy returns Thursday 3rd April on Channel 4.
