Animal Park | Preview (BBC One)

Ben Fogle and Kate Humble are back at Longleat, Britain’s first safari park, where life never stands still and neither do the challenges.

As the park prepares for its first hippos in over 40 years, a heartbreaking battle unfolds in Lion Country. The keepers are on high alert as Malaika, the beloved matriarch of the pride, shows worrying signs of illness. If the other lions sense her weakness, they could turn on her, with devastating consequences.

Meanwhile, Ben helps with a high-stakes mission to outwit the park’s notorious macaques before they dismantle their latest enrichment challenge. Hamza faces his own test as he tries to distinguish the youngest members of the ostrich flock, vital work if any bird needs urgent care.

And Megan meets a red panda for an ingenious health check, while deep in the park’s wilderness, the beavers are reshaping the land, but will their hard work survive human interference?
