Birmingham 2022 All Star Games | Preview (BBC One)

The action-packed event hosted by Emma Willis and Jermaine Jenas will see the celebrities and sporting legends as you’ve never seen them before.



Led by Team Captains, double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes and five-time Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds OBE, two teams from the world of sport and entertainment will go head to head.


Some of the competitors lacing up their trainers include BBC sport presenter Mike Bushell; former Love Island winner Kem Cetinay; freestyle football world champion Liv Cooke; former international rugby union player Thom Evans and two time Winter Olympic snowboarder Aimee Fuller. continued




Plus double Olympic gold medal rower Helen Glover; comedian and presenter Darren Harriott; singer and presenter Una Healy; singer and songwriter HRVY; comedian Russell Kane; BBC Asian Network DJ and TV presenter Noreen Khan; TV personality and presenter Ferne McCann and TV presenter Steph McGovern. continued


Also competing will be former racing driver Billy Monger; former England Rugby Union star Ugo Monye; Winter Olympic curler Eve Muirhead; Sky News presenter Dermot Murnaghan; author Mark Ormrod; TV personality Vicky Pattison and double Paralympic Gold medal runner Jonnie Peacock. continued




Also joining them are; TV presenter Mark Rhodes; former England rugby union captain Chris Robshaw; actor and comedian Tom Rosenthal; comedian Suzi Ruffell; Olympic gold medal long jumper Greg Rutherford; musician George Shelley; former professional Wales rugby star Gareth Thomas and professional basketball player Ovie Soko. continued



Finally, also taking part will be TV and Capital radio presenter Sian Welby; double Paralympic Gold medal runner Richard Whitehead; triple Olympic and World champion gymnast Max Whitlock and BBC Radio 1 DJ & TV presenter Rickie Haywood Williams. continued



They will take on five Birmingham 2022 sports, competing in front of live crowds at the actual venues during the Games. The action will take place across Lee Valley Velopark for Cycling - Track, Alexander Stadium for Athletics, Arena Birmingham for Rhythmic Gymnastics, Smithfield for Basketball 3x3 and the NEC Arena for Table Tennis.


Emma Willis said “Being a born and bred Brummy, I’m so excited to be back home as it hosts an incredible summer of sport. We’ve got two of Britain’s most celebrated sporting heroes, who have won tons of medals between them, going head-to-head in what I’m sure will be a very tense but thoroughly entertaining competition...


"And all for a good cause, raising money to help people who really need it on our doorstep as well as further afield. I can’t wait to see the celebs put through their paces to raise much needed funds for Sport Relief!”



Jermaine Jenas said “Throughout my career, I’ve seen how sport can bring people together and create positive change and Sport Relief does just that. The power sport has beyond the pitch or arena is phenomenal and it’s fantastic to see Birmingham 2022 team up with Sport Relief to raise money this summer...

Sport Relief is teaming up with United by 2022 and the Commonwealth Sport Foundation this summer as the Birmingham 2022 Official Charity Partners, to raise money to take on important issues, including tackling inequality, improving mental health and helping young people to survive and thrive.



All Star Games broadcast Monday 8th August at 7pm on BBC One.
