The Radfords – Britain’s Biggest Family – return with two highly emotional specials that will changes their lives forever.

The last series was all about the younger Radfords finding their way into adulthood - getting married, having children and struggling to deal with the consequences. This run starts with a moving film about Noel’s three year long quest to track down his birth mother. After hiring an adoption specialist to help him, an emotional reunion is finally in sight between mother and son. But does Noel risk alienating his nearest and dearest by taking this huge step?
Then, in another special episode, the Radfords are thrown into shock when the teenage daughter of their best friends, passes away. Noel and Sue drop everything to head to Scotland to support their grief-stricken pals – but after decades of trying to hold their own family together, will they be able to help Jamie and Rebecca when their worst nightmares come true?
It’s a dramatic start to the best series yet, as other members of the Radfords battle debt, pregnancy worries and adoption issues of their own.
The Radfords’ attempts to reunite their long-lost family stirs up some long suppressed fears, For more than three years Noel has been attempting to make contact with his birth mother, but has always drawn a blank. Sue hires an adoption specialist in one final attempt to help Noel fulfil his dream. But it comes with unexpected consequences.
Sue herself is adopted, but unlike Noel she has no interest in meeting her birth parents. But as she helps Noel get closer to meeting his, emotions built up over a lifetime of rejection threaten to spill over. Noel is faced with a dilemma - if he meets his birth mother, could he risk alienating his loved ones in Morecambe?
22 Kids And Counting returns Sunday 20th July at 8pm on 5.
