PLANS FOR CORONATION STREET'S 60th ANNIVERSARY REVEALED

ITV's long running Soap turns 60 on 9th December 2020.

To celebrate the anniversary, Corrie will be publishing an anniversary book, releasing never-before-seen social media content and launching new products.

Leading up to the anniversary, the show’s social media will post messages from cast members, viewers, charities and celebrity fans, including Joanna Lumley, who’ll deliver the first birthday message.

ITV has teased new storylines, one of which will see two characters “battle to keep a shameful secret that will ruin their lives and those around them [and the] lies and deceit they’ve created threatens to destroy them”.

The soap recently announced via Twitter that Corrie legends William Roache (Ken Barlow) and Barbara Knox (Rita Tanner) are returning to the show for its anniversary specials.
