The Jetty

Monday, BBC One

A year on from her husband’s death, new detective Ember Manning is called to an arson attack. The investigation that follows brings Ember into contact with an underage pregnant girl, who Ember suspects has been seeing an older man. When a true crime podcaster, in town to investigate a cold missing persons case, tells Ember that the older man is actually a serial predator, Ember finds herself reflecting upon the age difference between her and her late husband.



Midsomer Murders

Tuesday, ITV1

The party to celebrate the retirement of DCS ELAINE BENNET is an appropriately high-end affair, filled with the great and the good. BARNABY and SARAH are in attendance, and although he does not know DCS Bennet terribly well, Barnaby is representing the station.


Secrets Of The Sun

Tuesday, Channel 5

Dara meets solar experts at the forefront of their fields – from medical researchers to biologists. He talks to physicists figuring out how to protect the Earth from solar superstorms and engineers actually building a sun on earth, in the form of the world’s largest nuclear fusion reactor.



Battle In The Box

Tuesday, U&Dave

Jimmy Carr hosts this competitive comedy and reality hybrid where celebrities battle it out for pride, prizes and floorspace, whilst living inside a small box for a full day and night. The eight-episode series will comprise of four tense double bills which will see eight pairs spend 24 hours in the box.


Suspect

Wednesday, Channel 4

The second season picks up where the first left off, with Dr Susannah Newman (Anne-Marie Duff) on a quest to find the truth about her daughter’s tragic death. When a mysterious new client Jon (Dominic Cooper; Preacher, Mamma Mia!) makes a disturbing confession under hypnosis, Susannah is forced to embark on her own deadly mission to save a life, the way she couldn’t do with her own daughter… 



Mr Bigstuff

Wednesday, Sky Max

Glen and his fiancée Kirsty share a perfect, perfectly mundane life together. Sure, Glen’s got crippling erectile dysfunction and Kirsty (Harriet Webb) has a secret shoplifting habit, but they’re happy. That is until Lee comes crashing into their lives, whilst on the run from a past that’s quickly catching up with him.


McDonald And Dodds

Sunday, ITV1

In the first film, a body is found on a morning rush hour bus in Bath and McDonald and Dodds are then sucked into a mystery involving a priceless artefact, the birth of the blues and their own personal history.
