EAST OF EDEN: NETFLIX ANNOUNCES DRAMA ADAPTATION OF JOHN STEINBECK NOVEL

Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, and Hoon Lee will star in Zoe Kazan's adaptation of John Steinbeck's East of Eden for Netflix.

The synopsis reads: "California's fertile Salinas Valley is home to two families whose destinies are fruitfully, and fatally, intertwined. Over the generations, between the beginning of the twentieth century and the end of the First World War, the Trasks and the Hamiltons will helplessly replay the fall of Adam and Eve and the murderous rivalry of Cain and Abel...

"East of Eden was considered by Steinbeck to be his magnum opus, and its epic scope and memorable characters, exploring universal themes of love and identity, ensure it remains one of America's most enduring novels."

Earlier this week Netflix also announced that Keira Knightley, Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham, and David Morrisey are to lead the cast of new Netflix film The Woman In Cabin 10.

The Woman In Cabin 10 is a new new film in production based on the bestselling novel by Ruth Ware. A journalist aboard a luxury yacht witnesses a passenger thrown overboard – only to be told that it never happened and everyone is accounted for.

The official synopsis reads: "This was meant to be the perfect trip. The Northern Lights. A luxury press launch on a boutique cruise ship. A chance for travel journalist Lo Blacklock to recover from a traumatic break-in that has left her on the verge of collapse.

Except things don't go as planned. Woken in the night by screams, Lo rushes to her window to see a body thrown overboard from the next door cabin. But the records show that no-one ever checked into that cabin, and no passengers are missing from the boat.

Exhausted and emotional, Lo has to face the fact that she may have made a mistake - either that, or she is now trapped on a boat with a murderer."

Further casting has been confirmed, with David Ajala Art Malik, Daniel Ings, Christopher Rygh, Paul Kaye, Kaya Schodelario, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Gitte Witt and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

More details will be announced in due course.
