NEIGHBOURS ANNOUNCE RETURNING CAST MEMBERS AHEAD OF FINAL EPISODE THIS SUMMER

The Australian soap - which first aired on BBC One in the UK in 1986 - airs its final ever episode on 1st August.

It was announced earlier this year that Channel 5 would no longer air the series, and such production would not have sufficient funding to continue, and no broadcaster partner had been found.

Executive producer Jason Herbison said: "Whether the eighties, nineties, naughties or teens is your favourite decade, we will be delivering something for everyone as Neighbours draws to a close. Alongside the current cast we will be celebrating the most memorable characters from across many eras, with a few surprises up our sleeve."

The 20+ returning cast members, as per Digital Spy, are...

  • Kylie Minogue (Charlene Mitchell)

  • Jason Donovan (Scott Robinson)

  • Ian Smith (Harold Bishop)

  • Peter O'Brien (Shane Ramsay)

  • Paul Keane (Des Clarke)

  • Daniel MacPherson (Joel Samuels)

  • Benjamin McNair (Mal Kennedy)

  • Melissa Bell (Lucy Robinson)

  • Lesley Baker (Angie Rebecchi)

  • Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy Hoyland)

  • Chris Milligan (Kyle Canning)

  • Pippa Black (Elle Robinson)

  • Morgan Baker (Callum Rebecchi)

  • Jordan Patrick Smith (Andrew Robinson)

  • Olympia Valance (Paige Smith)

  • James Mason (Chris Pappas)

  • Jodi Gordon (Elly Conway)

  • Zoe Cramond (Amy Williams)

  • Kate Kendall (Lauren Turner)

  • Olivia Junkeer (Yashvi Rebecchi)

  • Zima Anderson (Roxy Willis)

Channel 5 said: "Neighbours will no longer air on Channel 5 beyond this summer. It has been a much-loved part of our schedule for more than a decade, and we'd like to thank the cast, Fremantle and all of the production team for their fantastic work on this iconic series...

"We'd also of course like to thank the fans for their loyal support of Neighbours across the years. We recognise that there will be disappointment about this decision, however our current focus is on increasing our investment in original UK drama, which has strong appeal for our viewers."

For now, Neighbours airs weeknights at 6pm on Channel 5.
