TIKTOK: MURDERS GONE VIRAL - ITV ANNNOUNCES TRUE CRIME SERIES

ITVX has commissioned a gripping new true-crime series exploring three tragic murder cases, which each went viral on the world’s fastest growing social media app: TIKTOK.

TIKTOK: Murders Gone Viral has exclusive access to the families of the victims and other key contributors in the extraordinary British story of 24-year-old TIKTOK influencer Mahek Bukhari from Stoke-on-Trent, known online as MayBVlogs, who was recently convicted of double murder alongside her mother for the fatal car crash on the A46.

The tragic and disturbing case of Mahek alongside two other murders forms the series, with each episode telling the harrowing story of one individual case, keeping the murder victims at its heart and using never-before-seen footage, extensive details of each police investigation and exclusive interviews with those closest to the case.

Produced by Nine Lives, the 3x60 series uses extensive TIKTOK archive, providing an intimate insight into each individual, often unpacking the dynamic between victim and perpetrator in a way that continues to re-shape the true crime genre for the social media and smart phone age.

ITV's Nicola Lloyd said: "In an era where social media can turn ordinary lives into global spectacles, this series delves into the disturbing stories of crimes that captivated the world through TIKTOK. It's a reflection of our fascination with the digital age and its impact on the darkest corners of human behaviour."

Cat Lewis, Nine Lives CEO and Executive Producer, said: “It has been a privilege to work closely with the families of the young victims in these tragic cases to make TIKTOK: Murders Gone Viral and I hope the series will help to illuminate how individuals use coercive control, manipulation and violence.”

TIKTOK: Murders Gone Viral is distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
