MURDOCH'S OPINIONATED NEWS CHANNEL APPROVED BY OFCOM

Rupert Murdoch's new opinionated TV news channel is to launch in 2021 after the proposal was approved by Ofcom.

News UK TV will run a nightly five-hour schedule, starting with an early evening politics show, followed by a political debate programme and then an evening news bulletin. A satirical comedy show is also in the works.

The proposal has secured an Ofcom licence, meaning News UK TV can broadcast free to air as a television channel as well as an online service.

Names including Nigel Farage, Piers Morgan and Alan Sugar are among the celebrities being rumoured for slots on the new channel.
