MEET STRICTLY'S NEW PRO DANCER: KAI WIDDRINGTON

The BBC have reportedly recruited a new dancer to join their professional lineup.

Kai has previously appeared on Britain’s Got Talent twice. Once in 2012, then again in 2014 with Latin dance group Kings And Queens.

Kai then joined Dancing With The Stars in Ireland in 2017, finishing second in the competition twice - most recently with Grainne Gallanagh. He also made history performing in a same-sex pairing with former Big Brother winner Brian Dowling.

A show insider told The Sun newspaper: “There are more female than male pro dancers this year, so Kai has been lined up to even up the numbers and take part in the big numbers at the start of the show. He’s fitting in well - he knows a lot of the show’s cast already - and has been in rehearsals all week.”

Kai is not expected to be partnered with a celebrity and instead will only appear in the group numbers.

Earlier this year, pro dancers Kevin Clifton and AJ Pritchard both announced they were leaving the show.

Strictly Come Dancing is expected to start in October on BBC One.
