LOVE ISLAND: WINTER SERIES SET FOR FORMAT CHANGES, REPORTS OF ALL-STARS SERIES
Winter Love Island is set for major format changes in 2024, with reports of an 'all-stars' series featuring former islanders. ITV have confirmed the series will return in 2024, however TV Zone understands it will not be the same format as this year's Winter series.
Produced by Lifted Entertainment, ‘part of ITV Studios’ and Motion Content Group, the current series of Love Island saw Maya Jama make her return as host presiding over all of the Villa action, whilst famed comedian and narrator Iain Stirling returned to voiceover each and every episode of the much-loved format.
It's reported that when the series returns in early 2024, it will not be in the same form as previous Winter series. An ITV spokesperson told TV Zone: "Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX in 2024."
A source told MailOnline: "'The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time… viewers just aren't interested in watching the show twice a year. It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love...
"In terms of iconic Love Island stars who are now happily married including the likes of Olivia Attwood, producers are looking into cameo appearances so that they still involve fan favourites from the years gone by."
Love Island airs on ITV2 with previous episodes available on ITVX.
