LOVE ISLAND LAUNCHES WITH LOWEST VIEWERSHIP SINCE 2017

Love Island returned to ITV2 last night (Monday 5th June) with its lowest overnight launch rating since series three in 2017, with 1.3m tuning in for the Summer 2023 launch.

January's Winter edition launched with just over 100k more than this Summer's launch. This year's 1.3m is nearly half the 2.5m who tuned in for last Summer's launch.

ITV claim the show launched with 1.7m viewers across all devices (including viewing on ITVX), which was the biggest digital audience outside of sport since the last series of Love Island earlier this year.

ITV say it was the highest rating programme in the slot across all channels, outside of BBC1 and It brought in the biggest 16-34 audience of the day with 0.5m TV viewers. This also makes it the third biggest 16-34 overnight digital audience of the year so far.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
