JUICE: MAWAAN RIZWAN'S COMEDY RENEWED FOR SECOND SERIES ON BBC THREE

BBC Three have commissioned a second series of Juice, the surreal comedy, written and created by Mawaan Rizwan.

Juice follows Jamma (Mawaan Rizwan) who desperately wants to be the centre of attention, but his family are constantly stealing his thunder.

Mum, Farida (Shahnaz Rizwan), always makes everything about her, Dad, Saif (Jeff Mirza), ignores him and brother, Isaac (Nabhaan Rizwan), steals the limelight at work – the one place Jamma feels like he’s doing well.

And when he finally does get the validation from boyfriend Guy (Russell Tovey), he can’t handle it. Jamma’s hyperactive imagination goes into overdrive and the world transforms around him.

Mawaan Rizwan commented: "I can’t wait to dive back into a magical world with magical people once again. Shoutout to everyone who’s championed this beautiful bonkers show…and everyone who hated on the bowl cut."

Jon Petrie, head of comedy at the BBC, said: "Juice is a truly exceptional creation and Mawaan has established himself as one of the most thrilling new British comic performers on television. We eagerly await the reunion of the family for another refreshing burst of Juice."

Juice (6x30) is a VAL production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
