Filming has officially begun on the new series of BBC Three hit comedy Juice written by and starring the BAFTA award winning Mawaan Rizwan.

Made by Various Artists Limited (VAL) the new series will see Mawaan return as Jamma alongside Russell Tovey as Guy, Nabhaan Rizwan as his brother Issac, Shahnaz Rizwan as their mother Farida, Jeff Mirza as father Saif and Emily Lloyd-Saini as Winnie. Guest artists appearing across the series include Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen), Tamara Lawrance (Get Millie Black) with more to be announced.

In the new series Jamma’s clowning around has landed him at the heart of a perfect storm: jobless, sofa-surfing and single. When a mysterious stranger offers to unburden him from his clownish ways to win Guy back, Jamma must decide if the risk is worth the reward.

The surreal comedy first aired on BBC Three in 2023 and has won several awards including an RTS Award for Comedy Drama and a BAFTA for Best Male Performance in a Comedy for Mawaan.

Mawaan Rizwan said “We back baby! This series is wilder, weirder and even a bit scary. The team are on fire and the cast are funnier than ever. Brace yourself. The storm is coming.”

Further details about Juice including transmission will be announced in due course.
