Model and actress Jodie Turner-Smith is to play Anne Boleyn in a new convention-defying drama for Channel 5.

Deadline have revealed that Channel 5 have commissioned a new three-part psychological thriller that will look at the downfall of Anne Boleyn.

The series will be written by Eve Hedderwick Turner, the drama will examine the final months of her life, reimagining her struggle with the Tudor's patriarchal society, her desire to provide a future for her daughter, Elizabeth, and the failure to provide Henry VIII with a son he so desired.
