JAMIE OLIVER'S COOKBOOK CHALLENGE AXED BY CHANNEL 4 AFTER ONE SERIES

Channel 4 have reportedly axed competition series Cookbook Challenge after one series. The series, which aired last year, was fronted by TV chef Jamie Oliver and was produced by his production company.

The series set out to find the next big name in cookery with a book deal with Penguin Random House up for grabs. Jamie Oliver mentored the contestants to discover who has the recipe for success and the ability to create a brand new cookbook.

Over seven episodes and with Jamie’s guidance, viewers watched as would-be cookery authors aimed to prove to publishers and expert judges they have what it takes to create a bestseller. The series culminated with three finalists bringing their books to life for the judges and industry experts in a final pitch for the ultimate prize.

A source told The Sun: "Bosses have decided to leave Great Cookbook Challenge at one series. They're proud of the show and will be continuing to work with Jamie on other shows currently in the pipeline."

Jamie Oliver's Cookbook Challenge is available to stream now on Channel 4.
