WEST END TALENT SHOW FORMAT REVIVED BY ITV FOR 2023

ITV is reportedly reviving the West End talent show format for a brand new series in 2023.

The eight-part series, which will follow on from previous series Any Dream Will Do, I'd Do Anything and Superstar, will be produced by Thames and will air on ITV and ITVX in 2023.

This time, the series will aim to find the new star of the Mamma Mia musical.

The ITV series will see a rising stars take to the stage in front of a panel of celebrity experts, with a public vote deciding who makes it through to the next stage of the competition and the follow week of the series.

A source told The Sun: "ITV are clearly riding the wave or renewed interest in all things Abba, not to mention a renewed interest in hit formats of old...

"This has been seen as an obvious choice for a reboot for years, but producers were waiting for the right musical and right moment."
