FASTEST FINGER FIRST: ANITA RANI TO HOST MILLIONAIRE SPIN-OFF ON ITV

'Fastest Finger First' is a new ITV gameshow based on the round of the same name featured in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

It has now been revealed at Countryfile presenter Anti Rani will host the series. The show will expand on the first round of Millionaire where contestants have to put their answers to a multiple-choice question in a specific order.

Five contestants play against each other to take it in turn to work their way up the question ladder. The two players with the biggest score at the end of the round go head-to-head in a Fastest Finger First duel.

The winner will be fast tracked to sit in the Millionaire hot seat in front of Jeremy Clarkson, by-passing the Fastest Fingers First round that opens the main show.

Stellify Media’s Doherty said: “The premise of Fastest Finger First might be simple, but in no way is it easy to do. As with Millionaire, Fastest Finger First holds the same excitement and tension – knowing when to use your question’s safety net and when to risk it all to push on creates really compelling viewing.”

A source told The Sun: "This is a reflection of just how much of a triumph the reboot has been, because even the original Millionaire didn’t spawn a spin-off show...

"And that was a phenomenon which was on our screens for a staggering 16 years under its former host, Chris Tarrant, before it was eventually axed in 2014. So this shows how much ITV believe the contest has captured the imagination of a whole new generation of viewers."

Meanwhile, applications are now open for the main series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, which is to return for a new series later this year. For more details on how to apply, click here.
