I'M A CELEBRITY SOUTH AFRICA SET TO RETURN 'PERIODICALLY' ON ITV

I'm A Celebrity...South Africa saw the return of some of the most memorable campmates in the brand new setting of South Africa. It saw bigger and tougher challenges with the environment harsher and more unforgiving.

The Sun reports that the series, which saw Myleene Klass crowned the first I'm A Celebrity Legend, could return to ITV in the future.

A source told The Sun: "Show chiefs feel that there is plenty of scope to do more. They have more than 200 ex-campmates to choose from — there could even be certain themes such as all-male, villains, or jungle shower legends...

"It was very much commissioned as a one off so talks about how and when it could return are only just beginning, but ITV wanted to preserve the format for the future. It definitely wouldn’t be a yearly occurrence, but a format to revisit periodically. It’s very good news for fans of I’m A Celebrity who will be hoping to see some more of their favourites appear."

I'm A Celebrity South Africa: Unseen airs Friday 19th May at 9pm on ITV1.
