HIJACK: FURTHER CASTING REVEALED FOR SECOND SERIES ON APPLE TV+

Apple TV+ previously announced a season two for hit thriller Hijack, starring and executive produced by SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Idris Elba.

Further casting has been revealed for its second series, with Toby Jones (Mr Bates Vs The Post Office), Lisa Vicari (Dark) and Christine Paul (FBI: International) joining the cast. Further casting will be announced in due course.

Told in real time, Series 1 of Hijack is a tense thriller that follows the journey of a hijacked plane as it makes its way to London over a seven hour flight, as authorities on the ground scramble for answers.

Since its worldwide debut, Hijack has become one of the top dramas on Apple TV+, receiving wide acclaim from both critics and fans, quickly achieving a Certified Fresh critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes and landing on the Nielsen Streaming Originals Top 10 list.

Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+, said: "Global audiences were on tenterhooks watching Idris’s riveting performance in ‘Hijack,’ and we’re thrilled to be working again with 60Forty and Idiotlamp on an equally compelling season two."

A source previously told The Sun: "This is great news for Idris, who isn’t just the leading man of the show, he’s also one of the executive producers. So he has a great deal invested in the drama, which was reflected in just how enthusiastically he promoted it... After all, it has turned out to be one of their most-watched shows and the reviews have generally been full of praise."

Hijack is created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, and the complete first season of the series is now streaming globally on Apple TV+.
