RHOD GILBERT'S GROWING PAINS RENEWED FOR FIFTH SERIES ON COMEDY CENTRAL

The series which sees celebrity guests revisiting their teenage years has been renewed for a fifth series on Comedy Central, with Rhod Gilbert returning to host the series. The news was revealed by British Comedy Guide.

Each celebrity will take a trip down memory lane; competing across fashion, pop culture, retro gadgets, first loves, school reports and more to get their teenage years recognised as the most embarrassing by comedian Rhod Gilbert, and it’s down to Rhod to judge which celebrity should be crowned ‘winner'.

Rhod told British Comedy Guide: "After nearly a year on the bench, it's great to be back out there doing what I love - laughing at the stuff we got up to when we were nippers. I'm still trying to make myself feel better about my own mortifying teenage years, so it's great to know I'll get to meet another batch of famous people, sharing the most intimate and embarrassing secrets from their youth. It's part chat show, part therapy."

Previous guests have included Joe Thomas, Geoff Norcott, Prue Leith, Paul Sinha, Robert Peston, James Acaster and Dr Zoe Williams.

Commenting on the first series commission, Rhod Gilbert said: "I was a very cool teenager, making one good decision after another…fashion, I got it just right, my hair was always great, love was one smooth happy ride after another and I had great taste in music, books and Kay’s catalogues...

"But not all my guests were like me, and I want to hear all about their traumatic teens and adolescent aberrations - the good, the bad, the hormonal and the lock-yourself-in-the-toilet embarrassing."

Rhod Gilbert's Growing Pains airs on Comedy Central.
