GB NEWS: PRESENTING ANNOUNCEMENTS SO FAR
The new channel plans to air 6500+ hours of "original news, opinion and debate" every year.
The headline presenter is former BBC presenter Andrew Neil, who will present a daily hour long show from 8pm Monday to Thursday. Speaking to BBC's The Media Show, he revealed that his programme will have segments such as "Wokewatch" and "Mediawatch". More details on both segments are to be revealed.
Andrew Neil says the channel would not provide rolling news, but would "divide the day into individual programmes, news-based programmes, built around very strong presenters."
BBC Afternoon Live presenter Simon McCoy will join the presenting team with an afternoon programme. Director of News and Programmes, John McAndrew, said of his signing: "Simon's journalistic integrity, warmth and personality is a perfect fir for what we're doing at GB News."
Former Sky News presenter Colin Brazier will GB News as anchor of a daytime news, interview and debate programme. Colin said: "GB News will lend an ear to some of Britain's marginalised and overlooked voices, and audience I have always cared about."
Businesswoman and broadcaster Michelle Dewberry is to join GB News with a five-night a week prime time show connecting with communities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Former ITV news journalist Alistair Stewart joins the team as presenter of a weekend news and current affairs programme. Commenting on his new role, Alistair said: "I can't wait to get stuck in and tackle issues that really matter to people across the United Kingdom."
Also announced is former Sky Sports and Socceraid presenter Kirsty Gallacher and broadcaster Rosie Wright, who will both be joining the GB News breakfast team, and social campaigner Inaya Folarin who will be joining the morning team.
Also joining the team as co-host of an afternoon programme is Alex Phillips, who is currently a contributor to The Telegraph and hosts a twice-weekly slot on TalkRADIO.
Joining GB News on the politics reporting team are Darren McCaffrey (Political Editor) and Tom Hartwood (Political Correspondent). Award-winning journalist Liam Halligan joins the team as economics and business editor and co-presenter of a daily lunchtime show.
'Free Speech Nation' will see Andrew Doyle present a lively, light-hearted look at current affairs every week with a variety of guests.
GB News is coming soon to Freeview channel 236, Sky, Virgin Media, YouView channel 236, Freesat, mobile, online and audio. More plans will be revealed in due course.
