ALISTAIR STEWART TO JOIN GB NEWS

Alistair Stewart joins GB News to host weekend news and current affairs programme.

Alistair is Britain's longest-serving news anchor, having presented the news in both local and national television for almost 45 years, and has won awards including the Royal Television Society's Presenter of the Year award and an OBE for his extensive charity work as well as his services to television.

Alistair said: "GB News is a unique opportunity to broaden the spectrum, challenge the groupthink and shift away from a predictable agenda in news and debate. I can't wait to get stuck in and tackle issues that really matter to people across the United Kingdom."

John McAndrew, Director of News and Programmes, said: "Alistair is hugely respected across the country and we are honoured to have a journalist of his calibre and experience on board. He will anchor GB News in more ways than one."

The former ITV newsreader joins the likes of Simon McCoy, Colin Brazier and Dan Wootton when the new channel launches later this year.
