FINDING ALICE: SERIES 2 PLANS SCRAPPED BY ITV

EXCLUSIVE

ITV have scrapped plans for a second series of drama Finding Alice, TV Zone understands.

Airing on ITV during January and February 2021, Finding Alice averaged around 7 million viewers, and become of its biggest drama launches of 2021, with a recommission confirmed in March 2021.

ITV teased at the time: "Picking up a year on, the second series will explore the consequences of Alice deciding to have her dead husband’s baby and the impact this decision has on her friends and family."

Now, plans for the second series - which was due to commence filming in February 2022 - have been scrapped, with no plans for the project to be picked up. TV Zone understands this is due to cast availability.

The series, starring Keeley Hawes, focuses upon Alice’s honest, raw, blackly comic journey of grief, love and life after the death of her husband Harry.

Following his accidental sudden death, Alice finds herself in the midst of storm of secrets, debt, suspicion and criminality which she has been forced to confront in order to survive.

Starring alongside Keeley Hawes were Jason Merrells, Isabella Pappas, Sharon Rooney, Nigel Havers, George Webster, Gemma Jones and Joanna Lumley to name a few.

Finding Alice was produced by Red Production Company, with Nicola Shindler as executive producer.

Series 1 of Finding Alice is available now on ITV Hub.
