ITV had originally planned to air the series, filmed in 2023 and consisting of ten episodes, in the Spring. With ITV News releasing their investigating in February, ITV decided to shelve the series indefinitely and replaced it in the schedule with a new series of Celebrity Catchphrase.

It has now been claimed that contestants on the series have been told the episodes will 'never be shown' following the allegations against Gino, though have left the door open for contestants to come back on the show should the show be recommissioned with a new host by ITV.

Family Fortunes sees two families go head-to-head to name the most popular answer to survey-based questions posed to 100 people, with a chance to win a £30,000 jackpot. Through a series of rounds, contestants are put on the spot to think of answers quickly, often resulting in some unique and hilarious television moments.

Previous episodes of Family Fortunes are still available on ITVX.
