The BBC have confirmed that new EastEnders will return from 8pm on Monday 7 September on BBC One.
The show is expected to return to its normal schedule of four nights a week, however episodes will temporarily be reduced to 20 minutes.
The show has been off-air for three months due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and filming restrictions. During this time BBC One have broadcast classic episodes and special behind-the-scenes and interview programmes with the cast presented by Stacey Dooley.
Exec Producer, Jon Sen, has said “From the moment we turned the lights out in The Queen Vic our ambition was to come back with a bang and this autumn certainly does that. As soon as Albert Square reawakens the drama returns at a pace and, although working within social distancing guidelines has certainly given us some new challenges, I am incredibly proud of what everyone has achieved. The show is looking fantastic and we can’t wait for “series two” to begin…”
