EastEnders will be referencing the Euro 2020 final in tonight’s episode on BBC One at 8:05pm. The scene, written and filmed today (Monday), will give a nod to last night’s match featuring Albert Square residents Billy, Kim and Bobby.
Jon Sen, Executive Producer says “Although it’s only a small scene, with England’s performance in the Euro’s capturing the hearts of the nation over the past month it’s only right that the residents of Walford would be talking about last night’s historical match.”
Due to the success of iPlayer streaming through the Euros, EastEnders will continue to box set episodes on BBC iPlayer, with all four episodes dropping weekly on Mondays until the end of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Jon Sen, Executive Producer, EastEnders said: “We’re so glad that the audience has enjoyed getting ahead of the game - keeping up with Albert Square on iPlayer whilst enjoying the Euros, so we’re carrying on releasing the week’s episodes on Monday throughout Tokyo 2020. There’s enough happening in Walford this summer to keep everyone on the edge of their seats and we’re thrilled audiences won’t need to miss out on anything – starting with the match this Saturday!”
