DATE MY MATE: DATING FORMAT AXED AFTER ONE SERIES BY PRIME VIDEO

Prime Video have reportedly axed dating format Date My Mate after one series. The series was produced by Dragonfly (a Banijay label) and narrated by former Love Island host Laura Whitmore.

Singles put their love lives in the hands of their mates using an exclusive dating app, helping them swipe, match and message their way to a romantic date.

From their sofa the mates witness every awkward and heartfelt moment of the date before giving searingly honest feedback on their single friend’s performance and discovering if a second date is on the cards. Could love be just a click away?

A source told The Sun: "Love Island is a distant memory and she has ceased hosting her weekend show on ITV1, so this is a rather disappointing hat-trick of farewells...

"Laura seems to have tried a variety of projects after leaving the villa, including chat shows and documentaries, but it seems even the familiar territory of a dating show isn’t a safe bet."

More details will be revealed in due course.
