DRAMA QUEENS: SOAP STAR LINE-UP REVEALED FOR NEW ITV REALITY SERIES

ITV have commissioned new reality series Drama Queens which will provide viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the cast of Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

The 8x60' series, which is produced by Lime Pictures and will air on ITVBe, will give viewers a "glimpse of the real life drama that goes on when the cameras stop rolling." The actors taking part have not been announced.

Across the series viewers will follow the actors as they balance busy schedules of being a soap star, their family lives and attending other events such as award ceremonies.

The soap stars taking part in the new series have been revealed by The Sun newspaper as Coronation Street's Ellie Leach, Lucy Fallon & Brooke Vincent, Emmerdale's Amy Walsh, Laura Norton & Roxy Shahidi and Hollyoaks stars Jorgie Porter and Jamelia.

Ellie Leach commented: "I’m so excited about Drama Queens. People are so used to seeing me play the character Faye Windass and I’m just so excited for everyone to see who I am and what goes on in my day-to-day life as just Ellie."

Sophie Webster added: "I am excited to show the authentic side of having small children whilst trying to navigate my way back into the acting world. Drama Queens allows me to showcase the reality of trying to find the work-home life balance of a young actress in what can seem a glamorous world."

Rebecca Kenny-Smith, Director of Programming at production company Lime Pictures, said: "We're thrilled to bring audiences a new kind of reality show that goes beyond the glitz and glamour, offering a genuine and raw portrayal of what it's really like to be a soap star."

Drama Queens is expected to air on ITVBe later this year.
