DISCOVERY UK ANNOUNCE NEW COMMISSIONS AND RENEWALS

Discovery UK have announced three brand-new series; This Cop Life, The Saved & Remade Workshop and Scrapyard Millions (w/t).

This is alongside the commissions of Shed & Buried, Nick Knowles Heritage Rescue, Wheeler Dealers: Dream Car and Ed Stafford First Man Out, as well as spin-offs from Discovery’s franchises; Aussie Gold Hunters: Mine SOS and Opal Hunters: Outback Odyssey (w/t).

One of three new series to drop on discovery+, This Cop Life will also air on Really later this month. The series follows the next generation of Kent Police officers as they discover life on the beat is tougher than they could ever imagine. The 10×60 series is produced by Raw Cut.

Also premiering on Really is The Saved & Remade Workshop, a 15×60 series that sees host Amanda Lamb work with a team of experts as they transform disused or neglected items giving them a new lease of life and new meaning to their owners.

Quest will also welcome back Nick Knowles: Heritage Rescue, following a successful first season. Britain is home to some of the world’s most magnificent and historic buildings, but centuries of neglect and exposure have wrecked some of the most loved sites. Nick Knowles follows owners, custodians and artisans working to keep Britain’s heritage alive. The second season airs this summer.

Simon Downing, SVP Marketing, Head of Factual & Docs UK at Discovery, said: “We’re delighted to bring a host of new series and returning favourites to Discovery in early 2022 Our factual slate includes some of our most loved franchises, back with exciting new spin-offs from both Outback Opal Hunters and Aussie Gold Hunters, as well as some hugely exciting new series focused on restoration and reuse, through Scrapyard Millions (w/t), to the survival of the fittest with Ed Stafford First Man Out. We look forward to delivering this wide-ranging content to both existing and new Discovery viewers, working with a host of the best production companies to bring these stories to both our linear and streaming offering.”

Clare Laycock, Clare Laycock, SVP Planning & Insights, Head of Entertainment at Discovery, said: “We are excited to introduce two great new series to our Lifestyle and Entertainment slate, both appealing to a wide range of audiences. This Cop Life shows the very real challenges of modern-day policing as we follow the officers of Kent whilst The Saved & Remade Workshop gives those with a passion for restoration their latest fix in this space with a fantastic line-up of talent. “

The new and returning series drop on discovery+ and air across Discovery’s linear portfolio from March.
