PREVIEW: Devon And Cornwall (S4), Channel 4

According to home-moving website Rightmove, Devon and Cornwall have become the most searched locations to move to over the last year.

This new series of Devon and Cornwall focuses on the people who were ahead of the trend - whether born in or drawn to this beautiful corner of Britain. From farmers and fishermen to artisans and from heather-clad moors to golden sandy beaches, the series celebrates more of the people who live and work in these proud counties.

This episode joins Alasdair Moore, head gardener at Cornwall's Lost Gardens of Heligan, as he sows the seeds of a wildflower revolution from a spectacularly colourful crop of meadow flowers to help the rest of the county bloom in the future. We head to sea with trawlerman Tristan Northway, the maverick skipper of The Adela - the smallest of the fleet based at busy Devon harbour Brixham - who live-streams his latest catch via Facebook to his customers, before selling direct to them off his boat when he returns to harbour.

And acting as a quayside fishmonger, he fillets the fish for his queuing clientele as they wait, and offers advice on how to cook the catch! Inland, Devon wildlife ranger Jake Chant has some VIP creatures under his care - wild beavers. As part of the first legally sanctioned reintroduction of an extinct native mammal to England, the River Otter is home to around 15 beaver families. Jake monitors these once-persecuted animals and to ensure that they continue to live happily alongside the local community.

In Cornwall, engineer Sam Henwood has a huge historic renovation on his hands, as he gets a replica of iconic steam locomotive The Puffing Devil back up to full steam. The Puffing Devil was built by Cornish inventor Richard Trevithick back in 1801 and is considered to be the world's first ever steam-powered passenger vehicle. The replica's been out of action for a couple of years, so Sam must restore her so that she's ready to hit the road again. Exec Prod: Christian Hills; Series Prod: Adam Purver; Prod Co: True North
