CORONATION STREET PREVIEW: WHAT'S IN STORE NEXT WEEK, EPISODE SYNOPSIS REVEALED
A look ahead to next week's episodes of Coronation Street, with a full rundown of each episode.
Monday 21st September
Dev and Kit accompany Bernie to her appointment. In the waiting room she tells them she knows in her heart of hearts that her test will prove negative. Kit loses his temper and storms off. Bernie catches up with Kit and berates him for his negative attitude. Will Kit finally open up about his own diagnosis?
When Carl overhears Steve moaning about the bloke working the switch, he offers his services. Kevin watches on as they shake hands on a trial. With the pub quiz in full swing, Debbie’s in her element answering questions about the 80s. Ronnie smiles at Glenda, knowing she fixed it in Debbie’s favour. Debbie’s jubilant as she heads out but her mood quickly sours when she overhears Ross slagging off Carl to Kevin.
When Sally reveals that she plans to attend the pub quiz, Lucy’s face darkens and she makes out she’s not feeling well. Glenda hosts a pub quiz to raise money for Debbie’s dementia choir. Susie persuades a reluctant Ben and Eva to allow Glenda to post the video of her singing on the Little Big Shotz website. Maggie’s disapproving.
Tuesday 22nd September
Sally looks at Lucy’s art project and is concerned to see a picture of an angry woman, clutching her head. When Sally asks her if it depicts her Mum, Lucy sees red. Sally shows Tim the picture and describes how Lucy lost her temper. Lucy apologises to Tim, who’s quickly taken in.
Back at home Lucy watches with mounting anger as Tim pulls Brody in for a hug. As Sally worries they’re not cut out to deal with Lucy and she needs professional help. At the station, Kit loses his rag with a suspect and Lisa is forced to step in. Lisa orders Kit to take the day off and sort himself out or he could lose his job.
Christina’s delighted when George promotes her to assistant funeral director. But when Bernie misses her celebratory drinks, and confides in Christina about Kit’s cancer, Christina’s left mulling over Bernie’s family news. When George asserts that kids are nothing but a worry, Christina’s left thoughtful. Glenda lambasts Maggie for sabotaging Little Big Shotz.
Wednesday 23rd September
In the undertakers, Christina observes George as he talks Tim and Lucy through plaque options for her mum, determined to learn all she can about the job. George shows Christina how to use the computer to view Rachel Parkinson’s file. When George explains that the deceased is Lucy’s mother, Christina’s quietly horrified and hurries out.
Joanie makes a dig at Lucy about the bruise on Sally’s face. Lucy apologises to Sally and, giving her a hug, tells her she reminds her of her Mum. Will Sally soften to the idea of helping Lucy? There’s excitement in the Rovers when Susie is invited to audition for a part in a musical, the casting director having seen her video.
Whilst the adults dutifully listen to Susie perform her audition piece, Sam plays on his phone. When Nick orders him to put his phone away, how will Sam react? Debbie and Ronnie return home and are shocked when a girl emerges from Carl’s room followed by a semi-naked Carl. When she introduces herself as Kylie, Debbie assumes she’s Kylie Minogue.
Thursday 24th September
Full of a cold, Eva sees Susie and Ben off for the audition in London. Nick and Sam call in to retrieve Sam’s phone but no one can remember where they put it. As Eva milks her cold, Glenda’s had enough and walks out. Feeling dreadful, Eva closes the pub. But when she hears a noise downstairs is Eva in danger?
Christina opens up to George George listens without judgement and Christina’s appreciative. Shanice watches as Lucy writes in her grief journal and tells her she hopes Lucy feels happy soon. Lucy’s touched.
As Carl starts his shift at Street Cars, Ronnie spells out that once he’s got his first pay cheque he wants him to move out. An agitated Sam returns from school, telling Nick that he needs his phone back. Nick and Toyah are taken aback by his vehemence. Sam heads into the office and hurls a stapler at the wall in frustration.
Friday 25th September
As Nick and Toyah search for Sam, a disorientated Debbie approaches asking if he’s seen Carl. Sam directs her to the Rovers, As Debbie surveys the empty pub, she’s horrified to see Eva lying at the bottom of the cellar steps unconscious. She hurries out to get help but becomes confused and it’s not until Glenda finds Eva that an ambulance is called.
As Ronnie tells Debbie there’s an ambulance outside the pub, she suddenly remembers in horror that she saw Eva. As the paramedics lift Eva, will she be ok? And did she fall or was she pushed?
Sally and Tim are pleased to think that Lucy is spending time with Shanice. But when Ronnie leads a tipsy Lucy back to No.4, Sally and Tim are unimpressed. George tells Christina that he’s there for her.
