END OF THE ROAD FOR COACH TRIP? FUTURE OF E4 SERIES 'IN DOUBT'

The future of E4 series Coach Trip is reportedly in doubt, with The Sun reporting that there's no immediate plans for future series - however E4 have not ruled out the show returning in the future.

The series, which is fronted by international tour guide Brendan Sheerin, returned to screens in 2016 on E4, having previously aired as a daytime series Channel 4. Since then, E4 has shown a mixture of civilian and celebrity series with the most recent airing in January 2022.

An E4 spokesperson told The Sun: "A new series of Coach Trip is not in development at the moment, however it would be untrue to say that Coach Trip is not returning to E4."

Each series of Coach Trip sees Brendan welcome pairs of travellers aiming to keep their place on the coach, and at the end of the tour be crowned the winners. All the pair enjoy a mix of excursions and cultural outings across the series.

At the end of each day the pairs will vote on who they least enjoy travelling with. The pair who receives the most votes will get a yellow card; two yellow cards will see them given a red card and be sent home on the next flight, only to be replaced by a new pair to fill up the coach.

The most recent Celebrity Coach Trip saw celebs including comedian Matt Richardson and actor and presenter Will Best; actors Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph; Geordie Shore stars Sophie Kasaei and James Tindale, members of girl band, The Honeyz, Celena Cherry and Mariama Goodman; and Olympian Ashley McKenzie with actor Paul Danan.

Previous series of Coach Trip are available on All4. TV Zone approached Channel 4 for comment.
