Dear Father Christmas
Follows 16-year-old Chris (BAFTA TV Award winner Lenny Rush, Am I Being Unreasonable?, A Woman of Substance), who still wholeheartedly believes in Father Christmas. His concerned dad (BAFTA TV Award nominee James Buckley, The Inbetweeners) decides it’s finally time to have “the talk” and tell him the truth. But Chris refuses to give up on Santa and embarks on a madcap mission to prove his dad wrong.
Joined by his cousin Holly (Ele Mckenzie, Funboys), Chris’s journey takes him into the heart of a Christmas conspiracy. Along the way he meets a cabal of scientists and thinkers – including Stephen Fry, Hannah Fry, Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, and Jason Fox – who seem to know the truth about Santa and may have cracked the science behind his apparent magical feats.
The Great Christmas Bake Off
For the first time since Peep Show wrapped in 2015, fan favourites David Mitchell, Olivia Colman, Isy Suttie, Matt King and Sophie Winkleman reunite – and this time, they’re donning festive jumpers and rolling up their sleeves to tackle a series of seasonal baking challenges.
Under the watchful eyes of judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, and with plenty of mischief and charm from Bake Off hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond, expect laughter and chaos in this Great Peep Show Christmas Bake Off special. The group will attempt to whisk, knead and decorate their way to glory with challenges paying homage to Peep Show. But will their culinary creations rise to the occasion, or will they collapse like a poorly-proofed loaf?
The Festive Pottery Throwdown
Siobhán McSweeney hosts a celebrity festive edition of Pottery Throwdown with judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller on Channel 4. The celebrities taking to the pottery wheel for the annual festive special on Channel 4 are comedian Tim Vine, actor Sarah Hadland, broadcaster Colin Murray and reality star Amber Gill.
The Last Leg Christmas Special
Their Christmas Bash is filled with yuletide treats and festive songs as Adam, Josh and Alex get into the Christmas spirit in a way only they could. The trio welcome celebrity guests for some very merry leglessness.
Top Toys Of All Time
The documentary celebrates the greatest toys of all time and features father/daughter Jonathan Ross and Honey and mother/son Alison Hammond and Aidan and best friends, comedians Lou Sanders and Harriet Kemsley. They’re given exclusive after-hours access to Hamleys Regent Street toy shop in London, reliving the excitement of playing with beloved toys from their childhoods.
CHANNEL 5 PROGRAMMING SLATE
All Creatures Great And Small
Christmas Special
It’s Christmas 1945, the first peacetime Christmas after the war. With Helen feeling under the weather, it’s fallen on James to take on the Darrowby Nativity play.
Siegfried is back at Mrs Stokes’ Farm to see Hilda the goat, who’s been up to more mischief and, true to form, gives Siegfried the run-around. Will Siegfried’s drench solution do the trick?
Christmas dinner is in very short supply this year, so Mrs Hall is keen to enter the Drovers' darts competition and scoop the first prize; a fresh turkey. Maggie reminds Tristan he’s supposed to be supplying the Christmas tree and he covers himself, but of course, he’d forgotten. Charlotte resolves to help him.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries
Christmas Special
It’s Christmas Eve, and Jeremy, Judith, Jean, and Dom have been invited to an exclusive event at the Musée de Sainte Victoire. On arrival, they meet flashy millionaires George and Aurielle, who are determined to put the old museum back on the map.
The new curator, Gabriel, proudly unveils his latest acquisition - a rare Ormolu box once owned by Marie Antoinette. He boasts of his international contacts and promises that more remarkable treasures will soon follow. George and Aurielle are ready to invest heavily in the museum but want proof that Gabriel can be trusted with their fortune. Jean soon realises she’s been invited to authenticate the box and get the ball rolling.
The Good Ship Murder
Christmas Special
Jack Grayling has reinvented himself at sea, embracing a new life as a cruise-ship singer touring the continent where his audiences can’t get enough of him. But Jack is also a former cop, and when murder strikes on board, his investigative instincts surge back to the surface.
Joining him as he balances showtime with sleuthing are First Officer Kate Woods, his partner in both romance and detection and the ever-loyal ship steward Jamil, who serves as Jack’s trusted sidekick.
Sally Lindsay's Christmas Quiz Night
Host Sally Lindsay tests two teams of celebrities, led by captains John Thomson and Shappi Khorsandi, on their memories of classic Christmas TV, music and film in a nostalgic festive feast of questions, covering everything from Band Aid to Albert Square, Morecambe & Wise to Quality Street.
The Yorkshire Vet At Christmas
The vets and nurses throw themselves into a festive fundraising challenge to support charities close to their hearts. The Dogs Trust slogan, “A dog is for life, not just for Christmas”, may be nearly 50 years old, but Peter Wright is determined to make a real difference this year. He and Julian Norton each lead rival teams in a series of sponsored events packed with fun and festive spirit.
Christmas On The Farm
Christmas has arrived at Cannon Hall Farm, where Helen Skelton, Jules Hudson and JB Gill host a magical 90-minute celebration packed with festive traditions, heartwarming stories and familiar faces. With the sound of the Skipton Brass Band filling the air, the farm becomes a winter wonderland of music, animals and seasonal cheer.
Rob and Dave Nicholson are at the heart of the action as they unveil a brand-new woodland retreat for Cannon Hall’s reindeer - the perfect home for their growing herd. Reuben Owen drops by to roll up his sleeves and ensure the farm’s trusty tractor is ready for whatever winter throws at it.
