CELEBRITY HUNTED RETURNS TO CHANNEL 4 IN EARLY 2025, FAMOUS FUGITIVES REVEALED

The Sun newspaper reports that Channel 4 have finally scheduled the series - which features Giovanni Pernice - following the conclusion of the BBC's investigation into his behaviour towards Amanda Abbington on Strictly Come Dancing.

Hunted sees 12 ordinary people from all over the UK have turned fugitive. If they can successfully outrun the elite team of hunters for 21 days, they will win a share of £100,000. On the run across the length and breadth of the UK, these fugitives will be looking over their shoulders, ever fearful that the hunters have picked up their trail.

The Hunters are a handpicked team of top police and military personnel, armed with the powers of the state, which includes live CCTV, ANPR, GPS positioning, drones, tracker dogs, mobile phone monitoring, publicity campaigns and motorbikes.

Celebrities taking part in the next series, as reported by The Sun newspaper, are: Strictly Come Dancing professionals Giovanni Pernice & Kai Widdrington; Loose Women's Denise Welch and husband Lincoln; EastEnders Danielle Harold & Coronation Street's Kimberley Hart-Simpson, plus Christine McGuiness and Duncan James.

Earlier this year it was revealed that Channel 4 has delayed recommissioning Hunted, with no new series being filmed last year. Broadcast reports decisions on further series will be made after its upcoming celebrity series.

The most recent series of Hunted, which concluded last month on Channel 4, was filmed in Summer 2022 and kept on the shelf since. Broadcast reports that the delay in recommissioning the series, which means no series will record this year, is due to Channel 4 keeping the show on the shelf for so long and commissioning cycles falling out-of-sync with transmission.

A Channel 4 spokesperson told Broadcast: "We continue to have conversations with [producers] Shine." Channel 4 have not given any indication on when Celebrity Hunted will air. Sources have suggested to TV Zone that it could be as late as Spring 2025.

Hunted is available on Channel 4.
