The Caribbean: A Billionaire's Paradise | Preview (Channel 4)

This gloriously escapist four-part series explores Brits' number one dream holiday destination - the Caribbean.

With its turquoise waters and white sandy beaches stretching for miles, the Caribbean attracts the rich and famous by creating a playground for its well-heeled residents. In this series, we meet the islands' residents and follow them as they live, work, holiday and party in the billionaire paradise, and get an insight into how the other half relaxes.

In this episode, we meet the great and the good of Barbados, including Elan Mottley and her family, including the Prime Minister of Barbados - Mia Motley, as Elan is looking into selling the family property in the heart of Sandy Lane.

We catch up with Bajan-born Jofra Archer, the twenty-six-year-old global sports star and fast-bowling hero of the England cricket team, who is also in Barbados on an extended break from cricket after having had surgery. And we meet 'Queen of Soca' and celebrity judge on Baje to the World, Alison Hinds, who is a cultural ambassador for Barbados and blazed the trail for Bajans like Rihanna on the international music scene.

Recent arrivals to the island are also enjoying all that Barbados has to offer. Sophie Michell recently moved from London to the Caribbean with her family. She is a British chef, author and co-owner of one of the newest restaurants on the island, Local & Co.

On the west coast of the island, Neysha Soodeen, a former magazine publisher, gives her first interview on transitioning from publishing into the environmental space. She throws a fundraiser to raise money for a local charity with her co-trustee Ben Goldsmith and calls on in-demand photographer, Junior Sealy, to help raise the profile of the event.

The Caribbean: A Billionaire's Paradise begins Wednesday 4th January at 10pm on Channel 4.
