WIFE ON STRIKE: CHANNEL 5 ANNOUNCE NEW FACTUAL ENTERTAINMENT FORMAT

Channel 5 announced that it has commissioned a six-part entertaining series, ‘Wife on Strike’ produced by Proper Content, looking at modern domestic life.

Arguments about family responsibilities as well as everyday chores are familiar to anyone who lives with other people: but who really takes on more than their fair share? And what can we do about it?

In this series, over-whelmed partners say enough is enough as they hand over the sole running of the house – and all the mayhem and madness that goes with it – to their unwilling and ill-prepared other halves.

But these over-worked and undervalued 'strikers' won't just be walking out - they'll hatch plans to force domestic revolution and shake up the status quo.

Provocative and revealing, this series lifts the veil on households across the UK as they reach boiling point…something has to change!

Denise Seneviratne, Commissioning Editor, Non-Scripted UK Originals, Channel 5 / Paramount + said: “I’m delighted to have commissioned this brand new series. Packed with humour and heart, it will take an honest look at family lives and enables them to take control in a way that I think will resonate with our viewers.”

David DeHaney, Creative Director at Proper Content, added: “Statistics prove our home lives are even more unbalanced than ever before. ‘Wife on Strike’ takes us into this familiar sphere in a playful and purposeful way, giving our contributors, and viewers, the tools to make a radical change and improve their lives – and have a lot of fun doing so.”

Wife on Strike was commissioned by Channel 5’s Denise Seneviratne.
