CHANNEL 5 GO INSIDE THE INCIDENT ROOM FOR NEW SERIES

Channel 5 has commissioned brand-new true crime format The Incident Room (2x60’) from Leeds-based production company True North.

The incident room is the hub of any police investigation. This innovative series immerses viewers in the high-stakes world of murder investigations, placing the viewer at the centre of the incident room where every second counts in the race to apprehend a killer.

Viewers will be led through each step of the investigation by the original detectives who worked the case – including interviews with friends and family members, psychologists, forensic investigators etc.

Offering a unique look into the inner workings of the nerve centre of murder investigations, this two-part series reveals step-by-step the thrilling processes detectives use to discover clues, identify dangerous suspects, piece together the puzzle of each case, and bring cold-blooded killers to justice.

Federico Ruiz, Commissioning Editor, Unscripted, Channel 5 & Paramount+ comments: “Take a deep breath and get ready to step into the shoes of real-life homicide detectives at the business end of grisly murder investigations...

"Crime is a tough space to break new ground but recreating a living, breathing, Incident Room does exactly that. Forget what you’ve seen on TV dramas, this is the real deal.”

Andrew Sheldon, Executive Producer, True North adds: “The idea was to recreate the precinct of a real Incident Room to reveal how detectives solved their most challenging cases...

"We see the investigations in the incident room itself, in the cells, in the Interview Room and in the Family Liaison Suite where victim’s families are debriefed. The format allows the viewers to understand how and why the key decisions were taken that brought notorious killers to justice.”

Due to air in the coming months, The Incident Room is a True North production for Channel 5.
