CHANNEL 5 OPENS THE 1980s SUPERMARKET FOR NEW SERIES

Channel 5 have commissioned a new series The 1980s Supermarket, following the success of the original The 1970s Supermarket series and its follow-up Christmas special.

The format is an immersive story of transformation, as Britain went from small, behind-the-counter shops to massive mega-stores with trolleys, booze sections and bar codes.

Each episode will feature experts and industry insiders who reveal how supermarkets grew and transformed over the decade. The 1970s Supermarket series celebrated products such as Angel Delight, Findus Crispy Pancakes, Chicken Kievs and Vesta Beef Curry.
