I LITERALLY JUST TOLD YOU CONFIRMED FOR THIRD SERIES AND CELEBRITY SPECIALS ON CHANNEL 4

I Literally Just Told You, Channel 4’s Jimmy Carr fronted primetime comedy gameshow will return for a third series and celebrity special. The celebs taking part in one of the specials are Jonathan Ross, Josie Gibson, Rylan Clark and Oti Mabuse.

The show, which was created by Richard Bacon and produced by Expectation, has seen audiences grow with each series on both linear viewing and VOD. The celebrity spin-off that aired at Christmas attracted 1.2m viewers and tripled the share of 16-34 year old viewers compared with the slot average.

Steven Handley who commissioned the series for Channel 4 said, “I Literally Just Told You is one of the most creative quizzes on TV, so we are delighted Jimmy will return to throw more mind-bending memory questions at the audience for the show’s biggest run so far.

Phil Harris,  Head of Entertainment at Channel 4 said, “Friday nights on Channel 4 are a real comedy entertainment destination so I’m delighted to bring our viewers more of Jimmy and Literally to take its place in our bold and innovative Friday night slate.”

Creator, Richard Bacon said, “I’m really excited it’s back and for even more episodes than ever before. We’re going to make it louder and weirder. How do I know that? I Literally Just etc etc”

Ben Wicks, Creative Director, Expectation said, “Hit show I Literally Just Told You is back, as Jimmy Carr -the most forensic mind in comedy - demonstrates that peoples' memories have been utterly shot to pieces. This is fantastic news, but having established that nobody can remember anything, I'm not sure why we are bothering with a press release."

In each episode of I Literally Just Told You, four contestants have the opportunity to compete for a cash prize of up to £25,000 by answering questions that have been written live as the show is being filmed. The questions can be about absolutely anything that happens during the show, from a celebrity cameo to an off the cuff joke or even something one of the contestants has shared about themselves.

I Literally Just Told You was commissioned for Channel 4, by Steve Handley, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment and Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment and Events. The series will be overseen by Ben Wicks, Creative Director of Entertainment at Expectation and the Executive Producers are Dom Wells-Martin and Richard Bacon.
