MO GILLIGAN STEPS DOWN AS HOST OF THE BRIT AWARDS

The BRIT Awards 2024 with Mastercard today confirms that next year’s event will take place on Saturday 2nd March, continuing its primetime slot on ITV1 and ITVX, live from The O2 arena, following the success of the 2023 show moving to the weekend for the first time in BRITs history.

The BRITs also announces that Damian Christian, Managing Director and President of Promotions at Atlantic Records (part of Warner Music UK) will continue as Chair of the BRIT Committee for 2024.

Mo Gilligan has announced he is stepping down as host after two years. In a statement on social media, the comedian said: "I've had the most incredible time working on The Brits but unfortunately as I'll be in the US for my first World Tour next spring, I'm sorry to say that I'll be stepping down from hosting duties for 2024 and handing over the baton."

Reflecting on the success of 2023 and his vision for 2024 Christian says: "The move to a Saturday night for the first time proved to be a huge success, so I’m delighted we’ll be back in a primetime slot again in March...

"A Saturday night show helped us lock in our most engaged audience ever, and we’ll be looking to build on that base as we connect with even more fans in 2024...

"Next year’s BRITs will be our most ambitious show yet, with a host of exciting performances from incredible artists, as we look to celebrate the music that soundtracked our 2023."

Further announcements will be made in the coming months.
